The thirteen Galactic Tones are the numbered rhythm of the Tzolk’in. Each calendar day combines one Tone with one of twenty Day Signs. MyMayanSign uses its own plain-English tone names and the traditional count. It does not use the Law of Time, the 13 Moon calendar, or Dreamspell tone names as its framework.
What is a Galactic Tone?
A Tone is a number from 1 to 13. The Tone describes how the Day Sign’s energy moves. The Day Sign describes what kind of energy is present. Neither part replaces the other. Together they form the Core Kin for the date.
As the twenty signs and thirteen tones advance together, they create 260 unique pairings. The same pairing returns after the full Tzolk’in round.

MMS tone names and Dreamspell tone names
Dreamspell uses Magnetic, Lunar, Electric, Self-Existing, Overtone, Rhythmic, Resonant, Galactic, Solar, Planetary, Spectral, Crystal, and Cosmic. Those names belong to a modern system. They are useful keywords when discussing Dreamspell, but they should not be described as the names used by MMS.
MMS uses Unity through Ascension. The calculation also uses the authentic Tzolk’in count with GMT 584283 rather than the Dreamspell calendar.
How to read your Tone
- Find the Day Sign and Tone from the same declared system.
- Read the Day Sign first as the form of energy.
- Read the Tone as the way that energy moves.
- Add the Trecena for the surrounding thirteen-day context.
- Use the interpretation as a prompt for observation, not a fixed verdict.
For example, Tone 8 Justice does not mean the same thing without its Day Sign. An 8 Eagle date expresses Justice through Eagle themes. A different Day Sign gives the same Tone another form.
How MyMayanSign calculates your Tone
The free calculator places the entered birth date in the GMT 584283 Tzolk’in count and returns the Day Sign, Tone, and Trecena. It does not use birth time or time zone.
