The 1st day of the Death Trecena is described as:

If you have the opportunity, you might wish to begin this new Trecena with a journey inward.

Kame is one of the best possible days to communicate with other realms and to gain practical insights from inner wisdom. Celebrate consciousness.

Among the highland Maya, this is also a day for honouring the ancestors.

The Mayan Sign: Death

Cane is the sixth day sign in the Mayan sign system. It is also known by the name Kame or Cimi.

If your main Mayan sign is Death, or you have it somewhere in your Tree of Life, the following video will be particularly interesting for you.

Fatih shares:

In the Mayan culture, Death is actually one of the luckiest signs.

It is one of the most beautiful signs because it symbolises transformation. The actual death of a person is seen by the Maya as a way to transform oneself. We can see this in other traditions as well, like in Tibetan Buddhism “Death and The Art of Dying” or “The Tibetan Book of The Dead” which are all about how to catch enlightenment in the moment of death, or in the bardo that comes just after death. The ancient Egyptians also see death as a journey after life. The Mayans don’t see it that differently.

When you think about it, our daily lives are full of transformations. We have to let our old selves die in order for our new selves to be born. Like a baby turns into a child, a child turns into a teenager, and then into an adult, a parent, an elder person… So our whole life is full of these transformations, and it’s part of life because if there is no dying, there is no living. This is a very important concept we often ignore.

So for Death people, it’s about transformation. You don’t go through very long crises in your life, and you can let go of your ego easily. You are actually a transformation catalyst, so you can help other people work through difficult times. Or you could be a mid-wife and help someone being initiated into motherhood, or help a baby come into this life which is a huge transformation as well. Or you could be an artist of dying like Elisabeth Kübler-Ross…

These things should be very much on your radar. Or you could very simply just be a very good transformation coach for day to day life.

Without death, there is no life.

This is such a powerful concept to think about – Without death, there is no life.

Especially when we think about our own personal evolution. As we live this life, we transform along the way. At some point in your life, you could look back and think Wow, I feel like a completely different person.

This transformation, this cycle of life and death, happens on every level. From the sun rising and setting every day. To our skin cells dying and regenerating approximately every 27 days. To our own personal growth, as we let go of our old self and welcome in the new version.

Everything operates in this transformative way.
