My sincere wishes that you are doing okay during quarantine!
During this time, I realized that the most difficult years in my life (2018 and 2019) have been preparing me for today. I had immensely challenging moments where I thought I was losing my mind, and thought of suicide for the first time in my life.
But I hung on and kept learning, kept breathing and using every opportunity to grow. And over time, I was able to change myself, through changing my habits.
Today, I would like to share with you a collection of some of the most effective methods I have been using lately to keep myself strong.
5 strategies to turn your challenging quarantine into a beautiful retreat
I created a 15-minute video for you, but if you want a summary, here are the 5 main strategies you can use to uplift your mood and your life during quarantine.
1. Practice gratitude
Recently I read an article that said 3 billion people in the world don’t have a sink in their house to wash their hands. This makes you realize in an instant how much you have to be thankful for, even in challenging times.
Spend 5 minutes every day thinking about the ways you are blessed. The emotion of gratitude will uplift your mood and fill you with more joy and positivity.
2. Realize that pain is growth in wolves clothing
Whatever difficulty or pain you are going through, remember this brain tattoo:
“If it does not kill you, it will make you stronger.”
Be friends with your pain. Let it be your accountability partner.
Most real heroes in the world have gone through immense suffering.

3. Let aloneness be your power
Many dislike being alone, and they look for ways to fill up the time with meaningless distractions.

Practice appreciating your alone-time.
Realize that you are strong on your own. Aloneness shall be your power, not loneliness.
Back up this strategy by staying away from digital distractions and focus on educating yourself.
Read nourishing books.
Listen to audiobooks and podcasts.
Write in your journal.
Learn something new to challenge your brain.
Reading, writing, and learning will keep your brain active and young.
4. Do a social detox
Be mindful of who you spend your time with, in person and online.
Your mirror neurons will reflect the people around you. If they are negative people, they will bring you down. If they are positive people, they will uplift you.
Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you.
Also, give yourself a mental detox and clear your mind – Listen to your inner talk and let go of the limiting beliefs that do not serve you.
5. Do a physical detox
Support all of these strategies above with a physical detox.
Cleanse your body by making cleaner food choices, fasting and incorporating other detoxing methodologies.
