3 EAGLE
The day of the Eagle (sometimes the quetzal) is commonly regarded as “prosperity day.” On certain Eagle days, it is favorable to seek one’s abundance, but on 3 days, seeking and expending effort may not be altogether fruitful. On several Tz’ikin days which I celebrated with the K’iche’, I was taught that there are times when one ought to think back upon the abundance which Ajaw (the Divine Spirit, Yucatec Ahau) has already given us, and to be thankful for it. This is one of those days.
